Tender Moments

There are so many tender little moments that I experience with Steve on a daily basis.
Warning: It's definitely a mushy post. Give me a break, I'm a newly-wed.

  1. I'm terrified of the dark so what happens when I have to use the restroom at 3 in the morning? Steve wakes up and turns on all the lights for me. A couple nights ago I told him that I drank too much water and would probably have to wake up in the middle of the night to use the restroom and he responds with this "It's okay, I'll be here to wake up with you".
  2. I can't remember the last time that I pumped gas in either of our cars. When one runs on empty he lets me take the other car so that I don't have to fill the car up with gas.
  3. He washes my laundry, cleans the house and makes me some delicious "white people" food because I "work full-time and need to rest" even though he goes to school full-time and works part-time.
  4. Massages my back and plays with my hair on a daily basis without hesitation.
  5. When I've had a hard day he puts his needs last and seeks to get me whatever it is I need so that my day is brightened up.
  6. Tells me how beautiful he thinks I am a couple times a day and lays with me side by side when I want to just talk.
  7. Packs my lunches in the morning before he heads out to school because I take too much time getting ready and never seem to have enough time to make it.
  8. Is very quick to apologize when he's made a mistake......and sometimes even when he hasn't and I'm just being delusional.
  9. Tells me stories at night when I'm sleepless until I manage to fall asleep.
  10. But my absolute favorite tender moments with Steven is when he tells me how excited he is and how badly he wants to be a dad; because what girl doesn't want to hear that? It melts my heart to hear him talk about how he will play basketball and soccer with our boys and how he wants to have a daughter to be his "daddy's little girl".

Having Steven in my life makes everything else in my life seem so worthwhile. I'm glad I've gone through what I have because it's only made my appreciation for my sweet husband grow even more. I can't even begin to imagine my life without this partner of mine.

Life as a Drake

I've been gone for a while and so much has happened....maybe that's why? Anyway, I'm officially a Drake now, Steven and I got married on the 10th of August and it was such a perfect day! We often sit around and talk about when we first met and about our wedding day. He's my absolute best friend. Married life can sometimes be a little difficult to get accustomed to but for the most part it's the most exciting trip of our lives so far.

I love everything about Steven and I am so grateful that I get to spend eternity with this hunk of a man!

On our wedding day I was able to see one of my good friends, Sam, and his gorgeous wife. I have known Sam for over 4 years now, he's seen me and helped me through many stages of my life. His wife is the sweetest and cutest girls I've ever met, I'm so grateful he found the girl for him.

I am so grateful for my family and the amazing support that they have always given to me. Steve fits right in and my family adores him.

These are Steven's parents and I love them to death! His mom Bonnie is the most thoughtful and caring person I've ever met! His dad Richard is so intelligent and is also so caring, always making sure I take my vitamins (he's a doctor). I have the best second family.

These are my beautiful sisters I adore them.

This is Steven's favorite picture. The little ones were so resilient to kissing him on the cheek because they're at that "boys are icky" stage. They love him so much and that makes me so happy :)

He got me good.

My beautiful ring. He spoils me.

All in all, it was a wonderful day. My favorite thing about being married to my best friend is that he often holds me like this picture above and sings to me. I'm so in love with this man, much more than I ever thought would be possible.
