The Final Countdown

((Okay, well maybe not the final countdown but it makes me feel better when I think of it that way.))

Today I'm 30 weeks pregnant! Only 10 more to go!

Although I'm excited to meet the little guy, I'm kind of amazed that I'm already this far along and that before I know it, I won't be feeling him inside of me anymore. Is it weird that, that makes me sad? I'm so used to having him inside of me that I can't even remember what it's like to not be pregnant anymore.

On the other hand, I feel so unprepared and really have no idea what I even need to have ready for when he  does comes. I thought I knew a lot more about babies, only to find out that I know NOTHING.

Something new about baby Drake is that he LOVES to kick daddy. He can be so calm and as soon as he hears or feels Steven put his hand on my belly, he will start kicking/punching.

I am excited to experience a lot of things with our baby but what I mostly can't wait for is
to see Steven and our little guy play and interact.

As of right now, I doubt anything can trump that.

Our 2 week break!

We have been in Texas for a week now and will be leaving back for Utah on the 13th.
Before that, my mom and little sisters were in Utah for two weeks.
I love family time. Especially having my mom spoil Steven's mini me.
Anyway, here are some of the fun things we/Steven has gotten to do.

He's a kid at heart.

Riding the Ferris Wheel at Scheels with Liliana

Dancing with my Momma at Monica's wedding

Burning in the sun at the pool

Being a stud, what he's best at.

And working, TONS of working. Steven and my dad have been working on home renovations practically every day. My husband is manly. :)

I realize these are all pictures of Steven and my family. What have I been doing? A whole lot of nothing. Between Steven and my mom I've been extremely coddled. Apparently I can't do anything because I'm pregnant.

UPDATE ON OUR BABY: I'm 28 weeks along, I've gained 17 pounds and have watermelon size feet most of the time. Our baby boy is a wild one, he's constantly kicking and rolling in my tummy, needless to say I have severe rib pain ALL DAY. He's going to be a soccer player like his daddy.

Baby Baby Baby

I am now 24 weeks along and I'm definitely feeling VERY pregnant.
At first Steven and I had a hard time feeling like my pregnancy was real and a hard time feeling connected to the baby. Now, Steven is constantly talking to the baby and I'm so ready to hold him! I guess it helps that the baby is constantly kicking me because it feels very real now.
We MAY have decided on a name but I feel like it's such a scary thing to name another person so I don't want to officially say it's his name until he's born probably. For right now though, we are thinking his name is:

Bentley Michael Drake

Both Steven and I have always liked the name Bentley but I'm still having hesitation with the name. However, we do know his middle name will be Michael because it's after Steven's little brother that passed away as a baby.

I have loved seeing Steven as a dad now and I'm so grateful that my son gets to have him as his daddy. I hope that our baby is exactly like his daddy, that would be such a wonderful blessing! Steven is so endearing, kind, loving, thoughtful, extremely handsome, hilarious and he's my absolute best friend. It feels as though I've known him my entire life and yet I have no idea how I ever truly lived without him before. Seriously, baby Drake and I are the luckiest people alive to have such a wonderful man in our lives.

I love my little family, I could not ask for more.

Surprise!

I haven't posted at all lately and partially it's because I am super busy but mostly it's because I didn't want to let the cat out of the bag.
This is the cat:

Steven and I are so thrilled!
We are 14 weeks (3.5 months) pregnant. We are extremely nervous but mostly just grateful, grateful that we have baby Drake in our lives now.

((A huge thanks to Kelsey for taking these pictures for us))
